Pineiro Next Best Thing Behind Lackey in Market

According to Jayson Stark of ESPN via Twitter, "Teams pursuing Joel Pineiro being told he's the No. 2 starter on market behind John Lackey, so price tag is north of Randy Wolf (i.e., $10M/year)."

Pineiro, 31, was 15–12 with a 3.49 ERA in 32 starts last season.

The Mets, Yankees, Nationals, Orioles and Angels have all shown interest in Pineiro.

Pineiro is seeking a four-year deal, according to reports.
