Thank God It's Over!

Posted by Matt Pignataro

All I can say is... Thank God it's over! It was a lose-lose situation from the start of this World Series between the Phillies and Yankees for us as Mets fans.

Even though I hate the Yankees so much with a passion, you got to give them the credit for winning a World Series title. Money doesn't always buy you a ring and what sometimes looks good on paper doesn't always translate on to the field, but the Yankees did it. The Yankees know how to run a baseball organization. Look at the core of Posada, Jeter, and Rivera all home grown talent mixed in with guys via free agency or trade. They found a way to win plan and simple.

The big negative in all of this is that Alex Rodriguez now has a ring. The sight of A-Rod winning a World Series just makes me sick. I have zero respect for A-Rod as a player and person. I'm willing to bet A-Rod will boast about himself and his ring in the interviews, he will be giving for the weeks to come. Just milking the attention for all its worth. It just makes me hate A-Rod even more. He doesn't deserve that ring one bit.

On the bright side of this, three months until pitchers and catchers report.

Fewer things make me more sick than a Yankee world championship. This year proves, that yes, you can buy a world championship, also that cheating never hurts.
I'm glad its over, now only of the local news programs, and newspapers would return to reporting news, instead of being Yankee shills.

I agree Gregg I don't love the Yanks but didn't the Mets spend over 140 million this past year. I know Arod and Pettite took steroids but if that were Santana and Wright would you still not root for them after coming clean. Would we be mad if the Mets spent 50 million more to get CC or Texeria. The Mets do not go that extra mile and it shows

comparing the 140 million the Mets paid to the 250 million the Yankees paid, is quite a huge difference, about the payroll of say the K.C. Royals. The Yankees still by a huge margin outpaid any other team in baseball.
You can say the Mets "cheaped out", but we're not paying $1,200 for a field level seat either.
As far as if our guys got caught using steroids, I don't know how I would react. I do know that A-Roid and St. Andy got nailed, and cannot root for them.
Lets remember too, that when St. Andy got nailed, he DENIED it first, only change his story once he saw the evidence against him.
