NY-NY Bidding War for Lackey?

Posted by Matt Pignataro

According to Andrew Marchand of ESPN Radio 1050, “John Lackey could end up in a New York-New York bidding war between the Yankees and Mets.”

Marchand also believes in talking with sources that Lackey will be lucky to get A.J. Burnett money (five-year deal, $85 million deal).

One big problem I have with Marchand's report is the whole Mets-Yankees bidding war for Lackey. There is no way the Mets would ever enter a bidding war with the Yankees. I mean when has that ever happen? It will never happen. The Mets aren't as gun-ho to throw money at free agents as the Yankees are. No chance of this happening.
